Women's Resource Center has applied comprehensive program strategies to develop intervention and prevention programs designed to meet the many and diverse needs of victims and families of sexual assault and domestic violence. Over forty full and part-time staff members operate the three agency facilities and provide client services.
Intervention: The primary focus of the intervention elements of the program is to reduce the incidence of injury and abuse to victims and their families. An integral part of Women's Resource Center 's programs is to reinforce with clients the need for them to take control of their situation. Programs are designed to redevelop the victim's self-esteem and pride and give them confidence in their ability to take responsibility for changing their own or their family's life circumstances.
Prevention: Prevention strategies focus on enhancing and expanding the public's awareness and understanding of sexual assault and domestic violence, thereby increasing the community's ability to respond appropriately to these complex and pervasive issues. The goal of the agency's prevention effort is to stop abuse and assault now and prevent it from occurring in the future.
